Our Emphasis & Desire

Maineville Baptist Church was founded in 1821 and has had an amazing legacy. In recent years it has struggled but it looks forward to new beginnings with a new pastor and re-focused outlook by “making a difference” in the lives of people. Along with the new pastor, Mark Sage, there is a core group that truly wants to glorify God while reaching out to their community. This will be done through several tried and true tools. There are services throughout the week that are designed to meet the needs of the family, singles, and children. It is our desire to help anyone no matter their background, their problems, or their mistakes. Maineville Baptist Church is a church that truly wants to help you.

Our services are designed to help you. The Sunday school hour is a bit more informal, where we look at topics of the Word of God. The AM Service is our primary service of the week, where we worship the Lord through song, prayer, and special music. Each week’s message is designed to be challenging and relevant for the new Christian and mature Christian alike. The Sunday Evening Service is usually a more targeted message dealing with Christian issues of our day and needful life maintenance for the believers of our church. The Midweek Service is when we meet to take prayer requests, pray for those requests, pray for our missionaries, and systematically go through a book of the Bible verse by verse. We also have a time of singing as well. The service is usually finished by 8:10 so that those who have to get up early for work or school can get home at a decent hour.

Our Emphasis:

We are a church that is founded solely on the Word of God, the Holy Bible. Our emphasis is to honor and glorify God first and foremost in all things. The Bible says that we ought to “worship Him in spirit and in truth.” We want to make sure that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ are honored through all we say and do. From the preaching and teaching, to the music and prayer, all should point to and emphasize the Lord.

We hold to the Bible as our final authority for all matters concerning faith, doctrine, and practice. We do not hold to creeds or confessions, or the writings of the church fathers or any human author. The Bible is our final authority. It is completely relevant and powerful in our lives today; therefore, we hold it in the highest esteem in our church.

Our Desire for You:

As it is for all people, our desire for you is what God desires for you—that you would come to the Lord Jesus Christ, believing in Him by repentance (a godly sorrow for sin) and faith in the Gospel. The Gospel means “the good news.” The good news is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a perfect sinless life and was crucified on a cross, shed his blood, and died to pay for our sin. It is also that three days later He arose from the grave thereby conquering sin and the grave for us. In believing the Gospel, you will receive forgiveness of that sin debt and everlasting life. There is no greater truth for any of us than that. In addition to salvation, it is the Lord’s desire that you would be baptized after salvation and grow to Christian maturity. We want to help you grow closer to Jesus and live a fulfilling Christian life. In order to help with that, we have a discipleship program that incorporates a one-on-one personal Bible study, through which we can help you understand all the basics of the Word of God that will help you live a victorious Christian life.

Finally, we want you to find a loving, godly environment that will encourage you, challenge you, and help you to be all that God wants you to be. There is no one that is perfect here; but it is our desire to draw close to the One who is perfect – the Lord Jesus Christ. As we all draw closer to Him, we all draw closer to one another. We hope that you will come and see for yourself how that our church is seeking to be “making a difference” here in our community.
