I’m Praying for America!

I’m Praying for America!

I’m praying for America. She has been my home, the country I served with a patriotic zeal as a young Marine. She is the one that I left to serve in the military and then later as a missionary. She is still one that I love though she has many problems and battles ahead of her. I believe she exists because of the blessing and mercies of God.  These blessings have come as the result of the great principles she was founded upon.  The fathers of our nations, without doubt, were especially illuminated and used of God to set a foundation of freedom that we are still enjoying today.

I’m praying for America because this is the hour of need.  This is the time we need God’s mercy and blessings.   We face an election tomorrow that, if God does not show us mercy (for we do not deserve it as a country) this election could go the wrong way and it will have devastating effects on the future. Now, I don’t worry about my future; God has been so good to me and my wife, Stephanie, and has allowed so many good things to happen that our lives have already been full. No, my prayer is not for my sake, but for my three daughters and their husbands; my one grand-child and the ones to come. My prayer is for the young people in our church and the children that come in on our bus route or with their families.  They need a country that retains the freedoms and blessings that we all have been able to enjoy.

Our church has gone over six issues that are important to our vote the last six weeks during our AM Services. We need to vote for candidates that believe in:

  1. The Importance of a Free Market
  2. The Protection promotion of Israel
  3. The Protection of all human life – especially the innocent unborn children
  4. The Originalist Literal interpretation of the Constitution
  5. The Protection of the Family
  6. The Protection of Religious Freedoms (by the way, the rights of freedom of speech, to assemble, free press, and the right to bear arms are all vital to these fundamental rights)

Oh, friends, let’s pray for America. Today, tonight, throughout the day tomorrow, and likely for the coming days, she will need your prayers.  Submit yourselves to God, humble yourself before Him, and beg for His mercy.  Rather than watch every update on Fox News – petition the Almighty God that created all things that He will help us at this important hour.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
